So creapy crawely now every little thing I feel I think there is an additional tick crawling around on me.

Tics are among the most vile of creatures

Once in high school, we took a class trip into the woods for a science project. Entire class came back with ticks. We never went back.

As you can tell, I’m an expert on things no one wants to be an expert on.

Oh fuck how the heck? That’s like months if antibiotics right?
![]() 04/28/2017 at 21:55 |

Seconded, still have a bump where one of those mean fuckers bit me down under.

I once took my shoes off and found a few ticks on them, then saw someone my pants, then noticed them on my socks. By the time I was done I was standing outside in my underwear and found 17 ticks on me.
Do not walk though a damp field at 8pm in June. Ever.

That’s like nightmare material.

What does it do? I’ve been bit by these little fuckers a handful of times and they always freak me the hell out.
Every time I go into their territory, they get me. Out here in the west I had never encountered one, but put me in the upper midwest for like 5-10 minutes outdoors and I’ll have one of them on me. They were driving me so crazy that I had to wear pants, rubber bands around the legs, and I stopped every couple minutes outside to check for and flick the bastards off.
Seriously, I have some kind of tick magnet.

Yup

I actually left those shoes outside for a few weeks because I was afraid of them

I took one off my dog last time we were up on the mountain. I smashed it.

And it exploded!

They are tough and can resist a lot of pressure, you have to really get them.
![]() 04/28/2017 at 22:12 |
|
I usually burn them with a match or put them into the wood stove.
![]() 04/28/2017 at 22:15 |

Yeah I have burned them with a lighter on my arm, burned leeches too, lot’s of critters tried to get my blood in the Marines.

I got bit and again couple years later. The meds make you sensitive to heat and sun. Ofcoirse it happened on July.

The first thing was this crazy pain in my back. Like throw up and pass out territory. It was really wierd. It lasted for like 5 minutes and never happened again. Then there’s 103 temperature, extremely tired and no appetite. There is also a ‘bullzeye’ around the bite that looks like someone spiked you with a football.

Got bit a couple of weeks ago as I was pedaling home from the local trailhead, the fucker must have got on my glove when I smacked some brush on the trail because he nailed me just inside the cuff. Fuck ticks. With all the water we finally got, the brush and tick population is exploding.

Mine faded away after like 5 years so maybe there’s hope

Fuuuuck ticks! Found one crawling on my hand while I was sitting behind my job on the grass eating lunch. Fortunately it hadn’t bitten me. If there was one animal I could rid from this Earth, it works be ticks.

5 time victim here. Wife 4 times. Dog and cats too. I’m 1 town over from the town of Lyme and I live in a field. I’ve had/not had the bullseye. I’ve had Bells Palsy. I have permenent recurring joint issues doctors can’t find.
I don’t take to the Doxyocycline (sp) well. I can’t go in the sun at all. And you got to take all 21 days worth.
Wanna see scary? Do a search on “Lyme disease” and “Plum island”. A government run (and armed!) private island right off shore doing testing for infectious diseases in live stock? And they don’t know where this came from?
